Five Senior IAS Officers Transferred by Karnataka Government

In a recent reshuffle, five senior IAS officers in Karnataka have been transferred and posted with a new charge.

In a transfer order issued by the Karnataka government, five IAS officers have been transferred and posted with a new charge with immediate effect. The officers who have been transferred are listed down below:

  1. 1986-Batch IAS Vandita Sharma has been given the concurrent charge of Additional Chief Secretary to the Government of Karnataka due to the retirement of Mahendra Jain on March 31, 2021. Prior to the new posting, Sharma is serving as Additional Chief Secretary-cum-Development Commissioner, Bengaluru.
  2. 1987-Batch IAS Rajeev Chawla has been transferred and appointed as Additional Chief Secretary, Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms (Administrative Reforms), Bengaluru. Chawala was serving as Additional Chief Secretary, Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms (e-governance).
  3. 1989-batch IAS Rakesh Singh has been allotted the concurrent charge of Administrator, Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagar Palike.
  4. 1990 batch IAS Gaurav Gupta has been transferred and posted as Commissioner, Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagar Palike (BBMP) with immediate effect. However, he will continue to hold his charge of Additional Chief Secretary, Commerce and Industries.
  5. 1990-Batch IAS G Kumar Naik has been given the charge of Additional Chief Secretary, Energy Department. However, Naik will continue to serve his present charge of ACS, Education Department (Higher Education).
