The Naveen Patnaik Government in Odisha has appointed senior IAS officer Saroj Kumar Samal as the Director of Information & Public Relations Department, a post equivalent in status and responsibility to the post of Joint Secretary provided in the IAS Cadre of the State.
An official notification was issued by the General Administration & Public Grievance Department.
Samal replaces Indramani Tripathy, who has been appointed as Additional Secretary to Government, ST & SC Development, Minorities & Backward Classes Welfare Department.
“Indramani Tripathy, Director, Information & Public Relations, Odisha, Bhubaneswar with additional charge of Director, SCSTRTI is appointed as Additional Secretary to Government, ST & SC Development, Minorities & Backward Classes Welfare Department. He is allowed to continue in additional charge of Director, SCSTRTI, Bhubaneswar”, the notification reads.
“Saroj Kumar Samal is appointed as Director, Information & Public Relations, Odisha vice Indramani Tripathy, IAS transferred,” it added.
