TN IPS Rejig: 4 ADGPs Promoted As DGPs

The Tamil Nadu government announced promotions and transfers of several IPS officers in a major shuffle on Friday.
The Tamil Nadu government has issued transfer and promotion orders of a few Indian Police Service officers, across the state.
Four officers in the rank of Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) – Rajeev Kumar (ITBP, New Delhi), Sandeep Rai Rathore (Avadi commissioner) Abhay Kumar Singh (director, Vigilance and Anti- Corruption, Chennai) and K Vannia Perumal (Vigilance, TANGEDCO, Chennai) have been promoted to the rank of DGP.
While Rajeev Kumar is on deputation with the Government of India, Rathore has been assigned to the existing vacancy as DGP, training, Police Training Academy, Chennai.
Abhay Kumar Singh has been promoted to DGP Director, Vigilance and Anti-Corruption, Chennai, from ADGP/Director, Vigilance and Anti-Corruption. Vanniya Perumal has been promoted to DGP Vigilance, TANGEDCO, Chennai, from the position of ADGP/Vigilance, according to an official press statement.
IPS officer A Arun, ADGP, Civil Supplies CID, Chennai, is the new police commissioner for Avadi in the city, succeeding Rathore.
