Dr. M.B. Boralingaiah, an IPS officer from the 2008 batch, has been appointed as the DIGP (Southern Range), stationed in Mysuru. For the first time, a DIGP rank officer has been appointed to the job previously held by an IGP rank officer. Dr. Boralingaiah is currently serving as Belagavi City Police Commissioner. The Southern Range covers the districts of Mysuru, Chamarajanagar, Mandya, Hassan and Kodagu.
Pravin Madhukar Pawar, an IPS officer from the 2003 batch, has been transferred and placed as IGP (CID) in Bengaluru. The previous BJP government twice demoted the job of Commissioner of Police, Mysuru City, an IGP-rank position, and replaced it with DIG-rank officers. C.B. Ryshyanth has been assigned as Dakshina Kannada SP, among other changes. He previously served as Mysuru SP from 2019 to 2021.
