Uttarakhand got its first woman IG Jail as Dhami government has appointed 2004 batch IPS officer Vimala Gunjyal as IG Jail. She has been entrusted with the responsibility of IG Jail.
Prior to this, she had been a DIG in Intelligence. Vimla was currently working as the IG CID and Communications. For the first time in the history of Uttarakhand, government has entrusted a woman officer with the responsibility of IG Jail.
