4 IPS Promoted in Punjab

The Punjab Government on Thursday promoted four IPS officers of the 1992 batch to the rank of Director-General of Police (DGP).

Those promoted by the Punjab Government are Sharad Satya Chauhan, Harpreet Singh Sidhu, Gaurav Yadav and Kuldeep Singh. While Chauhan is heading the security wing, Sidhu is head of the Prisons Department. Yadav is posted as Special Principal Secretary to CM Bhagwant Mann and Kuldeep Singh is in-charge of the Internal Vigilance Cell.
Yadav is son-in-law of former DGP PC Dogra and IAS/IPS/IRS training batchmate of Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal. With these promotions, the state police now have eight DGPs.
