In a major reshuffle, the West Bengal government released a transfer order of 13 IPS officers on 12 August 2020. The transfer included the deputy commissioner and the Howrah police Commissionerate.
Dyutiman Bhattacharya who is the Deputy Commissioner of the Second Battalion of Kolkata Armed Police (KAP) has been appointed as the new DC (Headquarters) of Howrah Police Commissionerate replacing Priyabrata Roy. Roy will now hold the charge of DC of the second battalion of the KAP.
Joy Tudu an IPS officer, who was currently holding the charge of Commanding Officer (CO) of the 11th battalion of the State Armed Police (SAP) has been posted as DC of Zone I (East) of Siliguri Police Commissionerate. Tudu has replaced Nima Norbu Bhutia, who will now handle the post of CO of 11th battalion of the SAP.
IPS Nidhi Rani who was currently compulsory waiting in the rank of Superintendent of Police has been posted as Vice-principal of Swami Vivekananda State Police Academy.
Apart from this, nine other IPS officers have been appointed with a new posting and several have got a promotion.
This includes, IPS Surya Pratap Yadav who was currently holding the charge of DC, Bidhannagar zone of Bidhannagar Police Commissionerate has been appointed as the DC, Headquarters in the same unit.
Khandbahale Umesh Ganpat who was Additional SP of Alipurduar has been appointed as the DC of Bidhannagar. Similarly, Howrah Rural Police, Additional SP has been posted as SP of state Special Task Force in Siliguri.
Additional SP, Cooch Behar, Md. Sana Akhtar has been posted as CO, EFR, 1st Battalion. Malika Garg who was holding the charge of Deputy CO, RAF Battalion, Durgapur, Paschim Bardhaman has been promoted as CO, RAF Battalion, Durgapur.
Additional SP, Raiganj Police District, Anupam Singh has been made the CO, RAF Battalion, Dabgram, Siliguri.
Ashish Maurya who was an Addition SP, Howrah Rural has been made the SP, STF, West Bengal, Headquater, Siliguri. Arvind Kumar appointed as SP, WBPRB.
Additional, DC, Traffic, Chandannager Police Commissionerate has been appointed as Addl. SP (Rural), Purba Medinipur, HQ at Contai.
Lastly, Jaspreet Singh has been appointed as Addl. SP, Raiganj PD.
