Chandigarh: The Punjab Government has issued new orders assigning additional responsibilities to one IPS and two PPS officers in the Vigilance Bureau, Punjab.
2015 batch IPS officer Harmandeep Singh Hans, currently serving as Joint Director (Crime) in the Vigilance Bureau, has been given additional charge as Assistant Inspector General (AIG) of the Vigilance Bureau’s Flying Squad.
In similar moves, Digvijay Kapil, PPS, Joint Director (Grievances Cell) at the Vigilance Bureau, has been assigned additional charge as Joint Director (Administration) as well as Joint Director (IVC and SU) within the Vigilance Bureau.
Meanwhile, Jagatpreet Singh, PPS, SSP of the Vigilance Bureau’s Ludhiana Range, will now also hold the additional charge of SSP, Vigilance Bureau, Jalandhar Range.
These appointments come in the wake of recent developments within the Vigilance Bureau, where SSP Harpreet Singh Mander (Jalandhar Range) and AIG Swarndeep Singh (Flying Squad) were suspended following actions taken against Chief Director, Vigilance Bureau, ADGP SPS Parmar. Subsequently, ADGP Praveen Sinha, IPS, was entrusted with additional charge as Chief Director, Vigilance Bureau, Punjab.
The reshuffle is seen as part of the government’s broader efforts to strengthen the Vigilance Bureau and ensure accountability and efficiency across its ranks.
