Bhopal: In a significant move, the Madhya Pradesh government on Sunday executed a major reshuffle within the state police department, transferring 15 Indian Police Service (IPS) officers across various ranks, including those at the DIG and ADG levels.
The reshuffle includes the appointment of key officers to various high-profile positions. Among the prominent changes:
- 1995 batch IPS officer A. Sai Manohar has been appointed as the Additional Director General (ADG) of Intelligence, a role he previously held in a different capacity. Additionally, he will now serve as the in-charge of ADG Cyber.
- Jaideep Prasad, also an IPS officer of 1995 batch, who was previously the Director General in charge of the Special Police Establishment Lokayukta, has been removed from this post. He has now been reassigned as ADG of the State Crime Records Bureau (SCRB).
- Yogesh Deshmukh, a 1995 batch IPS officer, will now take over the responsibility of Director General of Special Police Establishment Lokayukta, a post previously held by Jaideep Prasad. Deshmukh was previously serving as the ADG of Intelligence.
The reshuffle also saw several other changes at the level of Special Duty Officers and those in charge of crucial departments:
- 1992 batch IPS officer Adarsh Katiyar, who was the Special Director General of Police for Telecom, has now been shifted to the post of Special Director General of Police, Administration.
- 1993 batch IPS officer Sonali Mishra moves from the position of Additional Director General of Police, Training, to the role of Additional Director General of Police, Selection and Recruitment.
- Ravi Kumar Gupta, also an IPS officer of 1993 batch, has been appointed as Additional Director General of Police, Railways, after serving as Director Sports and Youth Welfare.
- 1993 batch IPS officer Sanjeev Shami, previously the Additional Director General of Police, Selection and Recruitment, will now take charge of Telecom.
- 1994 batch IPS officer Ashutosh Rai, the Additional Director General of Police, Fire Services, has been promoted to the position of Additional Director General of Police, AJAC.
- 1994 batch IPS officer Raja Babu Singh has been given the role of Additional Director General of Police, Training, moving from his previous role as Additional Director General of Police, Police Headquarters.
Other notable transfers include:
- Rakesh Gupta, the Special Duty Officer to the Chief Minister, will now assume the responsibility of Director Sports and Youth Welfare.
- Gaurav Rajput has been appointed as the Inspector General of Police for Rewa Zone.
- Krishnaveni Desavatu will now serve as Officer on Special Duty and Ex-officio Secretary Home, moving from the position of Inspector General of Police, Special Armed Forces Central Zone, Bhopal.
- Saket Prakash Pandey, formerly the Deputy Inspector General of Police for Rewa Range, has been transferred to the Police Headquarters.
- Rajesh Singh will take over the position of Deputy Inspector General of Police for Rewa Range, after his tenure at Senani 25th Corps.
These changes, coming just days after the state’s police forces were put under the spotlight, reflect the government’s efforts to streamline operations and ensure better governance across the police department.
