With the comeback of the second wave of Coronavirus in Bangalore, there has been a bureaucratic reshuffle in the post of civic body commissioner. The Karnataka government issued a transfer order in which IAS officer Gaurav Gupta as the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike Commissioner, replacing Manjunath Prasad.
Gupta will also continue to hold the additional charge of Additional Chief Secretary to Government, Commerce, and Industries Department. With this transfer, Gupta will now be able to take important decisions with respect to micro-planning and spending. While serving as the BBMP Administrator he did not have access to such powers.
