Chennai: In a significant administrative reshuffle, the Tamil Nadu government has appointed 1992 batch senior IAS officer Mangat Ram Sharma as the new Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) of the Public Works Department (PWD).
Alongside, 2005 batch IAS officer J Jayakanthan has been entrusted with the role of Secretary, Water Resources Department.
The new appointments are seen as part of the state’s strategic efforts to strengthen infrastructure and water resource management. Mangat Ram Sharma, known for his administrative acumen, will now oversee critical infrastructure and public development initiatives under the PWD.
