The Punjab government has issued immediate transfers for four IAS officers and one PCS officer, including the deputy commissioners of Ludhiana and Rupnagar.

Mr. Himanshu Jain, a 2013-batch IAS officer, who was serving as Deputy Commissioner of Rupnagar, has now been appointed as Deputy Commissioner of Ludhiana, replacing Mr. Jitendra Jorwal, a 2014-batch IAS officer.
Mr. Varjeet Walia, a 2012-batch IAS officer, who was serving as Additional Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister and Additional Chief Executive Officer of the Punjab Bureau of Investment Promotion, has been posted as Deputy Commissioner of Rupnagar.
Mr. Nirmal Ouseppachan, a 2017-batch IAS officer, who was Additional Deputy Commissioner (General), Mansa, has been transferred as Additional Secretary (Coordination) and Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to the Chief Minister, replacing Mr. Simrandeep Singh, a 2011-batch IAS officer. Mr. Singh has been posted as Additional Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister and Additional CEO of the Punjab Bureau of Investment Promotion, replacing Mr. Walia.
In the Punjab Civil Services (PCS) cadre, Mr. Tarsem Chand, PCS, who was serving as Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Samana, has been appointed as Deputy Excise Commissioner (Excise and Distilleries), Patiala, replacing Udaydeep Sidhu.
According to the order issued by Chief Secretary KAP Sinha, officers not assigned new postings have been directed to report to the Secretary, Personnel, until further orders are issued.
