5 Directors and 1 Deputy Secy Appointed Across Key Govt Departments, Check Names Here

In a series of significant moves on Thursday, March 20, 2025, several key appointments and re-designations have been announced by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), marking significant moves in central government services. The appointments, which come under the central staffing scheme, span across various departments and will shape the direction of important governmental functions.

  1. Masroor Ahmad (IA&AS:2015) has been selected for appointment as Director in the Department of Economic Affairs. He was recommended for central deputation by the Office of Comptroller and Auditor General of India. Ahmad will serve a term of four years, effective from the date of taking charge or until further orders.
  2. Salil Kumar (IOFS:2007), recommended for central deputation by the Department of Defence Production, has been appointed Director in the Ministry of Youth Affairs, Delhi. Kumar’s tenure will last until November 20, 2027, or until further orders, in line with the combined admissible tenure of five years at Director level, which includes both CSS and Ex-cadre posts.
  3. P Siva Sankar (IAS:2011:MH) has been appointed Director in the Department of Rural Development for a period of five years. The order specifies that his appointment will be effective from the date he assumes charge or until further orders.
  4. Prakash Rajpurohit (IAS:2010:RJ) has been selected as Director in the Department of Economic Affairs for a five-year term. Rajpurohit’s appointment follows the approval of the competent authority and is set to begin once he assumes charge.
  5. Shruti Singhal (IRAS:2011), currently serving as Deputy Secretary in the National Recruitment Agency, has been re-designated as Director. Her re-designation will take effect upon her assumption of charge, with a tenure extending until May 23, 2028.
  6. Praveen Singh Adhayach (IAS:2012:MP) has been appointed as Private Secretary to Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare and Rural Development. His appointment will be effective for five years from the date of assuming charge or until further orders. Adhayach will function at the Deputy Secretary level.

These appointments reflect the government’s ongoing efforts to ensure competent leadership in key areas of economic, rural, and youth affairs.
