Jammu & Kashmir: The Jammu and Kashmir government has issued new transfer and posting orders for several senior IPS officers. These changes come as part of the ongoing administrative reshuffling within the state police force.
According to the official order, Vijay Kumar, an officer of the AGMUT cadre (IPS: 1997), has been relieved of his duties as Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) in Jammu and Kashmir. He is set to take up a new assignment in Delhi under the AGMUT Cadre.
In a significant move, S.J.M. Gillani, the current Director General of Police (DGP) and Managing Director of the Police Housing Corporation, will now also hold the additional charge of Commandant General, Home Guards, Civil Defence & SDRF, Jammu and Kashmir, until further notice.
Further changes include the reassignment of Anand Jain, who was serving as ADGP Jammu Zone. He has now been transferred to take charge as ADGP Armed, Jammu and Kashmir. Additionally, Bhim Sen Tuti, IGP (POS) at the Police Headquarters (PHQ), who previously managed additional responsibilities, will now take on the role of IGP Jammu Zone.
Suleman Choudhary, the current IGP Traffic, J&K, has been given additional duties and will now oversee the roles of IGP (POS) PHQ, IGP (Hqrs) PHQ, IGP (Technical Services), and IGP (Telecom) until further notice.
These changes are expected to streamline operations and ensure continued efficiency in the functioning of the state’s police administration.
