New Delhi: The 58th ITEC Training Programme titled ‘Leveraging Resilience for Future Proofing our Cities’ concluded successfully at HUDCO’s Human Settlement Management Institute (HSMI), under the aegis of the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Government of India.
The valedictory session was addressed by Mr Sanjay Kulshrestha, CMD, HUDCO, in the esteemed presence of Shri M. Nagaraj, Director (Corporate Planning), and Shri Vineet Gupta, Chief Vigilance Officer, HUDCO.
22 Participants from 13 Countries Explore Urban Resilience Strategies
Spanning over two weeks, the program brought together 22 urban sector professionals from 13 countries, including Ghana, Indonesia, Iraq, Tunisia, Zimbabwe, and Sri Lanka, among others. Participants represented a cross-section of professionals such as architects, planners, engineers, and development experts, all working in the urban development and policy sectors.
Focus on Future-Ready, Resilient Cities
The training focused on empowering professionals to plan and implement strategies for resilient urban development. Key topics covered included:
- Resilient urban planning
- Climate change adaptation and mitigation
- Disaster preparedness and management
- Socio-economic resilience
- Innovative financing models
- Disaster-resilient infrastructure technologies
These comprehensive sessions were delivered by leading experts in urban planning, infrastructure, and disaster risk management.

Interactive Learning & Cross-Cultural Exchange
Beyond classroom lectures, the program emphasized experiential and collaborative learning, including–
- Country presentations by participants
- Action planning workshops
- Quizzes and interactive exercises
- Exposure visits to historical and cultural landmarks in and around Delhi
These activities fostered a dynamic exchange of ideas, best practices, and innovations, creating a global dialogue on urban resilience and sustainability.

The ITEC program is part of India’s ongoing commitment to capacity building and knowledge exchange with partner countries, facilitated by the Ministry of External Affairs.
