Gorakhpur: Yogi Adityanath on Monday inaugurated and laid the foundation for development projects worth over ₹63 crore in Gorakhpur, further boosting the city’s infrastructure and commercial growth.
The projects include the inauguration of the Shaheed Bandhu Singh Commercial Complex and the renovation of the historic Ghantaghar Gorakhpur, along with the foundation stone for a new commercial complex at Pandeyhata.
New Commercial Infrastructure to Boost Trade
The Chief Minister announced that a modern commercial complex will be constructed at Pandeyhata at a cost of over ₹34 crore.
Key features of the project include:
- Basement parking facility
- Space for 82 cars and 68 two-wheelers
- Construction of 65 shops
Once completed, the complex is expected to emerge as a major business hub, offering modern facilities for traders and easing congestion in busy market areas.
Multi-Level Parking and Ghantaghar Renovation Inaugurated
CM Yogi also inaugurated projects worth over ₹29 crore, including:
- Restoration of the historic Ghantaghar Gorakhpur
- Shaheed Bandhu Singh multi-level parking and commercial building
The parking facility will accommodate:
- 50 cars
- 200 two-wheelers
The Ghantaghar has been upgraded with a digital clock and modern lighting, enhancing the city’s heritage appeal and visual identity.
Smart City Push to Ease Traffic and Improve Urban Living
Highlighting the transformation of Gorakhpur, Yogi Adityanath said the city is rapidly evolving into a smart and well-planned urban center. He noted that improved parking facilities and organized commercial spaces will significantly reduce traffic congestion, especially in the busy Ghantaghar area.

The Chief Minister emphasized that the government is committed to public welfare and development, stating that tax revenues are being utilized for the benefit of citizens.
