78 UP-Cadre IAS Deployed For Conducting 1st Phase of Bihar Polls

After a letter sent by the commission to the chief electoral officer in UP, 78 UP-cadre IAS officers have been appointed as election observers for the 1st phase of Bihar polls.

Ahead of the Bihar assembly elections, 78 UP cadre IAS officers have been deployed as election observers for the first phase of polls which will be held on 28 October 2020.
According to the sources, the Election Commission of India sent a letter to the chief electoral officer in UP to deploy required IAS officer for the upcoming assembly elections.
The first phase of polls will be conducted for 71 seats in 16 districts of Bihar, as per the notification issued on Thursday. Various officer from 1996 to 2020 batch will directly notify the election commission from their deployment.
The 16 districts where the polls will be conducted for 71 seats are: Bhagalpur, Banka, Munger, Lakhisarai, Shekhpura, Patna, Bhojpur, Buxar, Kaimur, Rohtas, Arwal, Aurangabad, Gaya, Nawada, Jamui, and Jehanabad.
