30 IAS, IPS Officers From Kerala Deputed For Bihar Polls

After 78 UP-cadre IAS officers were deployed for observing Bihar assembly elections, 30 IAS and IPS officers from Kerala have also been allotted for Bihar polls.

Ahead of the crucial Bihar polls, 30 IAS and IPS officers from Kerala cadre have been allotted to monitor the polls in various districts as general and police observers by the Election Commission of India (ECI).
The first phase of the Bihar polls will be held on 28 October for 71 seats and in 16 districts. Prior to this, 78 Up-cadre IAS officers were also deployed for the Bihar polls.
Among the IAS officer who are being deployed from Kerala includes Biswanath Sinha, B Ashok, Puneet Kumar, Tinku Biswal, Biju Prabhakar, A Shajahan, Mini Antony, Rani George, Sharmila Mary Joseph, P Bala Kiran, S Venkatesapathy, N Prasanth, K Gopalakrishna Bhat, S Chandrasekhar, P M Ali Asgar Pasha, A Kowsigan, A R Ajaya Kumar, Amit Meena, B S Thirumeni, S Karthikeyan, P K Jayasree, Sheeba George, U V Jose, Veena N Madhavan and R Girija.
Among the IPS officers who have been deployed as police officers are IG Gugulothu Lakshman, DIG S Kaliraj Mahesh Kumar and SPs R Nishanthini, A Srinivas and K Karthick. Some officers have been allotted the district, starting from the date of nominations till the counting of votes, rest are still awaiting the deputation.
ECI also organised a virtual conference with the officers deployed for Bihar assembly elections 2020 at the chief electoral office on Monday 5.
