Lucknow: The 86th All India Presiding Officers’ Conference concluded on a positive and dignified note in Lucknow, highlighting themes of strengthened democracy, public interest, and Uttar Pradesh’s evolving administrative and developmental identity.
During the valedictory session, Deputy Chairman of the Rajya Sabha, Harivansh, and Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Speaker, Satish Mahana, praised the state’s governance initiatives and its Vision 2047 Document, emphasizing its role as an inspiration for legislators and policymakers nationwide.
Harivansh Praises UP’s Vision 2047 Document
Addressing the concluding session, Harivansh described the conference as historic and inspirational. He highlighted the collective learning opportunities from presiding officers and legislative officials across India, stating that the shared experiences and innovations would guide the strengthening of parliamentary and democratic processes.
He specifically lauded UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Speaker Satish Mahana for developing the “Vision Document of Developed Uttar Pradesh: 2047” through continuous and in-depth deliberations. According to him, the document is an exemplary roadmap for development shaped through democratic dialogue and participatory processes.
The Deputy Chairman also highlighted initiatives from Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan, where assembly speakers have improved legislators’ attendance and leveraged social media to connect legislative proceedings with the public, calling these practices exemplary.

In his address, Uttar Pradesh Assembly Speaker Satish Mahana emphasized the legislature as the strongest pillar of democracy, representing the voice of the people.
