New Delhi: Abhilasha Jha Mishra (IRAS: 2000), who was serving as Member Secretary (JS level) of the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) under the Department of Education & Literacy, has been prematurely repatriated to her parent cadre.
The decision was formalized through an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Wednesday, November 12, 2025. According to the order, the competent authority approved her repatriation on personal grounds, along with an extended cooling-off condition.
Ms. Jha had been appointed to the NCTE on October 24, 2024, for a four-year term. However, after serving for nearly a year, she has now been sent back ahead of schedule, marking a significant change in the NCTE leadership.
Puneet Bijaraniya Appointed Deputy Secretary in CVC
In a separate bureaucratic development, Puneet Bijaraniya (IPoS: 2013) has been appointed as Deputy Secretary in the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC).
The appointment, recommended by the Department of Posts for central deputation, was formalized by a DoPT order on November 12, 2025.
Mr. Bijaraniya will serve in the post for four years from the date of assuming charge or until further orders, whichever is earlier. This move adds a key officer to the CVC at a time when the commission continues to play a critical role in oversight and vigilance administration.
Implications of the Changes
The premature repatriation of Ms. Jha may impact ongoing initiatives at the NCTE, which oversees teacher education and professional standards across India.
The appointment of Mr. Bijaraniya strengthens the administrative cadre of the CVC, ensuring continuity in governance and vigilance-related matters.
