Amaravati: The Andhra Pradesh government has transferred and posted several IPS officers, including Kanthi Rana Tata and Vishal Gunni, who were recently reinstated after their suspensions were revoked in connection with the Kadambari Jethwani case.
Tata, a 2004-batch IPS officer of the Andhra Pradesh cadre, has been appointed Inspector General of Police, Directorate of Traffic Management and Road Safety. Gunni, a 2010-batch IPS officer of the Andhra Pradesh, has been posted as Deputy Inspector General of Police, Training, and given additional charge as Director of the Andhra Pradesh Police Academy (APPA).
The state government had revoked the suspension of both officers earlier in September after they had remained under suspension since 2024. Their reinstatement orders specified that the decision was without prejudice to the ongoing disciplinary and criminal proceedings against them.
Other IPS Transfers
The latest reshuffle also includes:
- C.M. Thrivikram Varma (IPS: 2005: AP), Director General of the Special Protection Force, has been posted as IG of Police and Director of the Forensic Science Laboratory.
- R. Jayalakshmi (IPS: 2006: AP), Director of the Anti-Corruption Bureau, has been posted as IG, CID Cyber Crimes.
- B. Raja Kumari (IPS: 2007: AP), IG, AP Special Police Battalions, has been transferred as IG, Railways, with additional charge as IG, CID Women Safety.
- Babujee Attada (IPS: 2011: AP), DIG, Greyhounds, has been posted as DIG, Technical Services, while retaining additional charge as DIG, Greyhounds.

New SPs for Three Districts
The government has also appointed new Superintendents of Police for Markapuram, Palnadu and Polavaram districts.
Pankaj Kumar Meena, who was serving as OSD, Polavaram, has been posted as SP, Markapuram. Jagadeesh Adahalli has been appointed SP, Palnadu, while K. Chakravathi, who was SP, CID, has been transferred as SP, Polavaram.
The postings follow the government’s decision to revoke the suspensions of Tata and Gunni earlier this month. The two officers had been awaiting fresh assignments after their reinstatement.
