Ankur Baruah Appointed Director (HR) of Oil India Limited, Know About Him

Mr. Baruah’s selection follows a detailed recruitment process conducted by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB), which held interviews on January 15, 2025.

New Delhi: Ankur Baruah, currently serving as Executive Director at Oil India Limited (OIL), has been appointed as Director (Human Resources) of the state-run oil and gas company.

The appointment was confirmed through an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Tuesday, April 15, 2025.

According to the notification, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved Mr. Baruah’s appointment to the post until the date of his retirement – February 29, 2028 – or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Mr. Baruah’s selection follows a detailed recruitment process conducted by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB), which held interviews on January 15, 2025. He was selected from among 12 candidates interviewed for the position before being recommended to the ACC.

With decades of experience in the energy sector, Mr. Baruah is expected to bring valuable leadership to OIL’s HR division at a time when the company continues to focus on workforce development, organizational transformation, and employee welfare in alignment with its strategic growth plans.
