New Delhi: Rajesh Kumar, Director (Finance) at Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL), has assumed the additional charge of Director (Human Resources) of the company with effect from September 1, 2026.
The additional responsibility has been assigned following the approval of the Hon’ble Minister of Coal, Government of India, and a subsequent order issued by Coal India Limited (CIL).
Rajesh Kumar Takes Additional HR Responsibility at BCCL
Rajesh Kumar will continue to perform his regular responsibilities as Director (Finance) while also overseeing BCCL’s Human Resources and Personnel functions.
His additional charge follows the superannuation of Murli Krishna Ramaiah, who retired from the post of Director (Personnel/HR) on August 31, 2026.
Rajesh Kumar will continue to hold the additional charge until a regular appointment is made to the Director (Personnel/HR) position.
PESB Recommends Rajarshi Dhar for Regular HR Director Post
The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) has recommended Rajarshi Dhar for appointment as the regular incumbent for the post of Director (Personnel/HR) at BCCL.
The recommendation is separate from Rajesh Kumar’s interim additional-charge arrangement. Kumar will continue to handle the HR portfolio until the regular appointment takes effect.

Rajesh Kumar is a seasoned finance professional with more than 35 years of experience in Coal India Limited and its subsidiaries.
Over the course of his career, he has developed expertise across several key areas, including:
- Corporate finance and accounts
- Taxation and budgeting
- Treasury management
- Contract management
- Internal controls
- SAP-FICO automation
- Large-scale project financing
His extensive experience across Coal India and its subsidiaries is expected to support the company’s financial and administrative functions while he takes on the additional HR responsibility.
Dual Role to Continue Until Regular Appointment
With the additional charge, Rajesh Kumar will manage BCCL’s Finance as well as Human Resources and Personnel functions.
The arrangement will remain in place until the regular appointment to the Director (Personnel/HR) position is completed.
The move ensures continuity in the functioning of BCCL’s HR and personnel department following the retirement of Murli Krishna Ramaiah.
