Navratna Defence PSU Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) has secured new orders worth Rs. 1,292 crore, including a major Rs. 1,034 crore contract (excluding taxes) from the Ministry of Defence for the supply of Software Defined Radios (SDRs) and Data Communication Terminals (DCTs) for the Indian Coast Guard.

The state-of-the-art SDRs, developed indigenously in collaboration with Defence Electronics Application Laboratory (DEAL)—a DRDO unit—and BEL, are designed for multi-band, multi-channel, and multi-mission operations, enabling Network-Centric Warfare capabilities. The DCT system enhances secure communication between shore-based stations and naval vessels, ensuring seamless coordination in critical missions.
Apart from this landmark contract, BEL has received additional orders worth Rs. 258 crore for the supply of an Earth Station for Satellite Communication, Laser Range Finders, Fire Control Centres, Command and Control Posts, Communication Equipment for Weapon Systems, Head-Up Displays, spares, and associated services.
With these latest contracts, BEL’s cumulative order intake for the current financial year has reached Rs. 13,147 crore, reinforcing its leadership in advanced defence electronics. The company continues to drive indigenous defence manufacturing, aligning with the Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative to enhance India’s self-reliance in military technology.
