New Delhi: The Chief Justice of India has appointed Bharat Parashar as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) in the Supreme Court of India on deputation, with effect from 11 November 2024.
Parashar will reportedly assume charge as the Secretary General of the Supreme Court of India starting 1 December 2025, marking a significant administrative change at the apex court.
Career Background of Bharat Parashar
Before this appointment, Bharat Parashar served as Member Secretary of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA). In that capacity, he oversaw various initiatives aimed at improving access to justice, legal aid, and legal awareness across the country.
His extensive experience in administrative roles within the judiciary is expected to strengthen policy implementation and procedural management at the Supreme Court.

Role and Responsibilities
