Gandhinagar: Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), India’s leading engineering and manufacturing PSU, has received the prestigious Rajbhasha Kirti Puraskar 2024–25, the highest national award for official language implementation. The recognition was conferred by the Department of Official Language, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, during the Hindi Diwas celebrations and the 5th Akhil Bharatiya Official Language Conference held on September 14 in Gandhinagar, Gujarat.
National Recognition for Language Excellence
BHEL received the award in two major categories, Excellent Implementation of official language and Best Hindi Griha Patrika. These accolades reaffirm BHEL’s consistent efforts to promote Hindi as a medium of communication across its operations.
The awards were presented by Amit Shah, Union Minister of Home Affairs and Cooperation, to Krishna Kumar Thakur, Director (HR), BHEL, who accepted the honours on behalf of the organization.
Awards for Corporate and Unit-Level Achievements
In addition to the top honours, BHEL Corporate Office, New Delhi, was awarded Second Prize in the category of Public Sector Undertakings situated in Region A for its exemplary official language implementation.
BHEL’s Heavy Power Equipment Plant (HPEP), Hyderabad, also won the First Prize in the category of Best House Magazine for PSUs situated in Region C.
These recognitions highlight BHEL’s ongoing commitment to promoting the use of Hindi while fostering cultural inclusivity and communication efficiency across its diverse workforce.
