New Delhi – In a major stride towards digital transformation in India’s energy sector, Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has successfully commissioned its first commercial Remote Monitoring and Diagnostic Services (RMDS) project at the Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) Mumbai Refinery. The pioneering initiative reflects BHEL’s growing capabilities in deploying smart, predictive, and 24×7 digital diagnostic technologies for core industrial sectors.

Smart Tech for Industrial Resilience

The RMDS project is a significant step under the Industry 4.0 framework, in line with the Government of India’s Make in India vision. Designed to offer round-the-clock remote monitoring, predictive maintenance, and data-driven diagnostic insights, the system is expected to transform BPCL’s operational efficiency and asset reliability.

Through real-time monitoring and predictive analytics, the RMDS platform will help BPCL reduce equipment downtime, improve decision-making, and optimize maintenance schedules—key factors in boosting plant productivity and safety.

Leading the Digital Shift

This project reinforces BHEL’s strategic focus on digital innovation, smart industrial services, and customer-centric transformation.
