Bhuwan Chandra Pathak will continue to hold the additional charge of Director (Finance) at the Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL), alongside his current role as Chairman and Managing Director (CMD). This extension will be effective from February 17, 2025, for a period of six months, or until the position is filled on a regular basis, or until further orders – whichever is earlier.
A Mechanical Engineering graduate and Distinguished Scientist of the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), Pathak began his career in 1986. With over three decades of experience in implementing nuclear power projects across India, he has played a pivotal role in executing projects ranging from 220 MWe to 1000 MWe, involving both Pressurized Heavy Water Reactor (PHWR) and Pressurized Water Reactor (PWR) technologies.
Throughout his career, Pathak has held several key positions, including Chief Construction Engineer, Project Director, Executive Director (Projects), and was appointed as Director (Projects) on NPCIL’s Board in July 2019. Renowned for his strategic leadership and exemplary performance, he assumed charge as CMD on February 23, 2022.
NPCIL, headquartered in Mumbai, is a public sector undertaking under the Department of Atomic Energy, responsible for the generation of nuclear power in India. It is wholly owned by the Government of India.
