In a significant bureaucratic reshuffle, the Bihar government, led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, has reassigned several IAS officers to new positions. According to a notification from the General Administration Department (GAD), 14 Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers have been given fresh postings. Additionally, 11 officers have been moved to the General Administration Department and are currently awaiting new assignments.
Among the notable changes, Sumit Kumar, a 2019 batch IAS officer who was serving as the city commissioner of Saran, has been appointed as the new Deputy Development Commissioner (DDC) of Bettiah. Meanwhile, Preeti, also from the 2019 batch and previously the DDC of Khagaria, has been reassigned as the new city commissioner of Bhagalpur. Naveen Kumar, another officer from the 2019 batch, has transitioned from his role as the city commissioner of Muzaffarpur to become the new DDC of Gaya.
Other significant changes include Yatendra Kumar Pal, who was the city commissioner of Rohtas, now taking over as the DDC of Saran. Vikram Veerkar, formerly the DDC of Ara, has been named the new city commissioner of Muzaffarpur. Priyanka Rani, who served as the DDC of Saran, has been transferred to the role of Nawada DDC. Deepak Kumar Mishra, the previous DDC of Nawada, will now serve as the city commissioner of Nalanda, while Shreshta Anupam, a 2020 batch officer, has been appointed as the new DDC of Muzaffarpur.
