In a minor reshuffle within the Bihar Police, six Indian Police Service (IPS) officers were transferred on Wednesday, with the state home department issuing a notification on the same day.
Among those transferred, Chandra Prakash, the outgoing Superintendent of Police (SP) of Jamui, is one of the notable officers affected by the reshuffle. A 2019 batch IPS officer has been appointed as the Commandant of the Bihar Special Armed Police (BSAP)-17 in Bodh Gaya.
In another significant move, 2012 batch IPS officer Neeraj Kumar Singh, currently serving as the Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) for Inspection in Patna, has been appointed as the SP of the Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) in Patna.
Sanjay Bharti, a 2014 batch officer, has been transferred as ASP (Inspection) in Patna, while Hari Shankar Kumar (2018 batch) will now serve as the Rail SP for Katihar district.
Additionally, Deepak Ranjan (2012 batch) has retained his position as the Commandant of BSAP-3 in Bodh Gaya. Pramod Kumar Yadav, another officer involved in the reshuffle, has been appointed as the Commandant of BSAP-1 in Patna, with the additional responsibility of SP for the Special Task Force (STF) campaign in Patna.
These transfers reflect the dynamic nature of administrative adjustments within the Bihar Police to ensure the efficient functioning of law enforcement across various regions.
