Patna: Bihar has made significant strides in enhancing its rural infrastructure, with nearly 80 percent of planned rural roads and bridges constructed under a state-backed initiative supported by the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD). The remaining 20 percent of roads and bridges are in the final stages of construction and are expected to be completed in the coming months.
The initiative, aimed at connecting remote villages to urban centers and boosting rural development, has already transformed the landscape of Bihar’s countryside. By improving connectivity, these newly constructed roads and bridges are not only enhancing access to markets, healthcare, and education but are also accelerating the state’s rural economy. The Bihar government has invested a total of ₹5,989 crore in this ambitious project.
