Gopalganj: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, during his Samriddhi Yatra, visited Gopalganj on Monday to inaugurate and lay the foundation of key development projects worth a total of ₹316 crore. The initiatives include 33 projects worth ₹181 crore for foundation-laying and 7 projects worth ₹135 crore for inauguration.

During the visit, the CM also inspected the Saran embankment at Bartadeh Panchayat and the Community Health Centre in Barouli block, highlighting the government’s focus on infrastructure, healthcare, and public safety.

Focus on Timely and Quality Implementation of Projects

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar reviewed ongoing development works carried out by various departments in Gopalganj alongside local officials. He instructed that all projects must be executed on time and with high quality, ensuring that the benefits of welfare schemes reach the last beneficiary transparently. He emphasized that district administration should remain sensitive and proactive in addressing public grievances promptly.

Additionally, the CM participated in a public dialogue session, addressing local residents and reaffirming the government’s commitment to transparent governance and rapid problem-solving.

Highlighting Bihar’s Transformation Since 2005

Addressing the public, CM Nitish Kumar reflected on the state’s situation before 2005, criticizing previous administrations. He said that prior to the NDA government, Bihar suffered from poor law and order, frequent communal tensions, inadequate healthcare, a failing education system, and dilapidated roads. Citizens were afraid to venture outside after dark due to safety concerns.

He underscored that his government has since focused on education, health, roads, and electricity, resulting in visible development and improved living standards across the state. CM Kumar also indirectly targeted former leaders Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi, recalling that in seven years, one chief minister was replaced by his spouse, indicating past political instability.

Key Projects Inaugurated and Laid Foundation

  • Bartadeh Panchayat: Inauguration of Saran embankment construction
  • Barouli Block: Inspection of Community Health Centre and foundation-laying of several development schemes
  • Overall Gopalganj District: Review of ongoing projects by various departments, totaling ₹316 crore

These projects are part of the Samriddhi Yatra initiative, aimed at ensuring good governance, accelerating development, and improving public welfare across Bihar.

About the Samriddhi Yatra

The Samriddhi Yatra is a statewide outreach initiative by the Bihar government to monitor developmental projects, address administrative gaps, and interact with local citizens to ensure welfare schemes are efficiently implemented. The program emphasizes inclusive growth, transparency, and citizen-centric governance.
