Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Wednesday distributed appointment letters to 4,954 Auxiliary Nurse Midwife (ANM) recruits at a ceremony held at Shastri Nagar’s Energy Auditorium in Patna.
The event was organized to strengthen the state’s primary healthcare system and improve maternal and child health services across Bihar.
CM Hands Over Appointment Letters to Selected ANMs
During the programme, the Chief Minister symbolically handed appointment letters to selected candidates, including:
- Vinita Kumari
- Swati Kumari
- Roshni Kumari
He congratulated all newly appointed ANMs and urged them to work with dedication, honesty, and commitment in serving the public health system.
Strengthening Bihar’s Health Infrastructure
In his message on social media platform X, CM Nitish Kumar said that the appointment of 4,954 ANMs will significantly strengthen Bihar’s healthcare system.
He expressed confidence that their dedication would ensure:
- Better maternal and child healthcare
- Improved immunization coverage
- Stronger family planning services
- Expanded primary healthcare access
- Disease prevention at grassroots level

Health Minister Mangal Pandey stated that nearly 20,000 jobs have been created in the health department over the past year.
He also said that more than 2,000 health centres will now have dedicated ANM staff, improving accessibility and quality of healthcare services in rural areas.
