Indian Masterminds Stories

Patna: Bihar has marked its entry into the electronics manufacturing sector with Iconspiral Electronics launching its production unit in the BIADA industrial area in Bihta.

The company has introduced a range of ‘Made in Bihar’ products including laptops, all-in-one PCs, tablets, and mini PCs, signaling a major step toward industrial and digital growth in the state.

Production Begins at Bihta Industrial Unit

The manufacturing unit in Bihta is among the first organized efforts in electronics production in Bihar. The initiative aims to shift the state from a consumption-driven economy to a production-driven economy.

The unit was inaugurated by former industry minister Nitish Mishra, highlighting the government’s focus on attracting industrial investment and promoting technology-driven enterprises.

According to the company:

  • Jobs will be created in manufacturing and service sectors
  • Youth will get opportunities in electronics assembly and testing
  • Technical skill development will be promoted locally

This initiative is expected to provide training and employment opportunities to Bihar’s youth without requiring migration to other states.

Reducing Import Dependency in IT Hardware

India has traditionally relied heavily on imports in the IT hardware sector. This initiative is expected to:

  • Reduce dependency on imported electronic products
  • Strengthen local supply chains

The move aligns with broader national goals of boosting domestic production and self-reliance.

Founders Bring Global Experience and Technical Expertise

The company was founded by:

  • Anamika Singh, who has global experience in business strategy and marketing
  • Anupam Singh, with a strong background in electronics engineering and innovation

Anamika Singh has previously worked with Spiral Icon Holdings in Africa, bringing international exposure to the venture, while Anupam Singh focuses on product quality and technological innovation.

‘Made in Bihar’ Products Target Government and Education Sectors

The company’s products are BIS-certified and compatible with the Government e-Marketplace (GeM), making them suitable for:

  • Government procurement
  • Educational institutions
  • Corporate sector requirements

The company aims to establish ‘Made in Bihar’ as a trusted brand while exploring export opportunities in the future.

Boost to Bihar’s Industrial and Digital Growth

The launch of electronics manufacturing in Bihar marks a significant milestone in the state’s industrial journey. By combining local employment, skill development, and technology production, the initiative is expected to strengthen Bihar’s position in India’s manufacturing ecosystem and drive long-term economic growth.
