Patna: The Environment, Forest and Climate Change Department pavilion at the Gandhi Maidan has emerged as a major attraction during Bihar Day 2026 celebrations. Visitors thronged the pavilion to explore a wide range of medicinal plants, spice plants, eco-friendly products, and bird feeders, making it one of the most popular sections of the event.
Nursery Stall Showcases Rare and Useful Plants
One of the key highlights of the pavilion is the ‘Nursery Store’ stall, where visitors are showing keen interest in plants like Rudraksha, Chandan (sandalwood), and Humad, along with a variety of spice and medicinal plants.
The stall features an impressive collection, including:
- Clove, bay leaf, and betel leaf plants
- Lemongrass, cinnamon, and ajwain
- Medicinal plants like Sarpagandha, Shatavari, Tulsi, and Patharchatta
- Rare varieties such as red and white sandalwood
Priced between ₹50 and ₹160, these plants are attracting both gardening enthusiasts and those interested in herbal remedies. The stall also provides valuable information about the uses and benefits of each plant, making it educational as well as engaging.

Eco-Friendly Products and Bird Feeders Gain Attention
Another crowd-puller at the pavilion is a stall set up by Patna-based exhibitor Vikas Kumar, featuring decorative flower pots, organic fertilizers, and eco-friendly products.
A standout attraction is the bird feeder (grain pots for sparrows and other birds), designed to be hung on trees or balconies. These feeders are encouraging people to support urban bird conservation, particularly for sparrows, whose population has been declining in cities.
Madhubani Art Products on Display
Adding a cultural touch to the pavilion, a dedicated stall is showcasing Madhubani (Mithila) painting-based products. Visitors can find a variety of handcrafted items such as:
- Purses and laptop bags
- Pen stands and diaries
- Bamboo trays and coasters
- Decorative showpieces and textiles
These products highlight Bihar’s rich artistic heritage while promoting local artisans and sustainable crafts.
Unique Medicinal Plant Installation and Eco-Tourism Models
A special installation inspired by the Sanjay Gandhi Biological Park has also drawn attention. The display features a human-shaped figure embedded with 19 types of medicinal plants, along with detailed information about their healing properties.
In addition, the pavilion includes:
- LED displays showcasing Bihar’s eco-tourism destinations
- Models promoting a pollution-free Bihar
- Demonstrations of eco-tourism concepts and sustainable practices
