Patna: The Government of Bihar has carried out a major bureaucratic reshuffle involving the transfer and reassignment of 15 Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers across key departments, divisions, and administrative positions.
The reshuffle includes changes in top posts such as education, labour resources, road construction, mines and geology, public health engineering, and the Chief Minister’s Secretariat, aimed at streamlining governance and improving administrative efficiency.
Vinod Singh Gunjiyal New Education Secretary
2007 batch senior IAS officer Vinod Singh Gunjiyal, currently serving as Bihar’s Chief Electoral Officer, has been appointed Secretary of the Education Department.
He will also hold additional charge of the Sports Department.
Following this move, 1995 batch IAS officer B. Rajendra has been relieved of additional responsibilities of the Education Department, while continuing his role in the General Administration Department.
Major Senior-Level Transfers Across Departments
Labour Resources and Welfare Departments
1996-batch IAS officer K. Senthil Kumar has been appointed Additional Chief Secretary of the Labour Resources Department.
He has also been given additional charge of the Backward and Extremely Backward Classes Welfare Department.
Road Construction and PHED Changes
- Pankaj Kumar Pal appointed Secretary, Road Construction Department
- Rajesh Kumar shifted to Principal Secretary, Public Health Engineering Department (PHED)
Divisional Commissioner-Level Changes
Several divisional postings were also revised:
- Avinash Kumar Singh appointed Secretary-cum-Mines Commissioner
- Himanshu Kumar Rai given additional charge of Kosi Division
- Prem Singh Meena assigned additional charge of Bhagalpur Division
- Anshul Kumar given additional charge of Purnia Division Commissioner
