Mumbai: The Maharashtra government on Thursday carried out another major administrative reshuffle, transferring four senior IAS officers in a move that has significantly impacted the administration of Pune, Nagpur, and other key departments. The state government issued official transfer orders, bringing fresh leadership to important positions including the Pune Divisional Commissioner’s office, Sports and Youth Services Department, and Nagpur Municipal Corporation.
The reshuffle is being seen as part of the government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen administrative efficiency and governance across Maharashtra.
Pune Division Gets New Commissioner
Senior IAS officer Dr. Chandrakant Pulkundwar, a 2008-batch officer serving as the Divisional Commissioner of Pune, has been transferred to Mumbai. He has now been appointed as Secretary in the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department under the Ministry of Rural Development.
During his tenure in Pune, Dr. Pulkundwar was known for taking several important administrative decisions and handling key developmental responsibilities in the region.
Replacing him, IAS officer Sheetal Teli-Ugale (2009 batch) has been appointed as the new Divisional Commissioner of Pune. She previously served in the Sports and Youth Services Directorate and is expected to bring administrative experience to the important Pune division.
Changes in Sports and Youth Services Department
Following the transfer of Sheetal Teli-Ugale, IAS officer Deepak Singla (2012 batch) has been appointed as the new Commissioner of Sports and Youth Services.
The department plays a crucial role in promoting sports infrastructure, youth development programs, and state-level athletic initiatives across Maharashtra.
Administrative Changes in Vidarbha Region
The Maharashtra government has also made key changes in the Vidarbha region administration. IAS officer Muruganantham M. (2020 batch), who was serving as the Chief Executive Officer of Gondia Zilla Parishad, has now been appointed as the Additional Municipal Commissioner of Nagpur Municipal Corporation.
