PATNA: The Bihar government has carried out a minor administrative reshuffle involving two Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers, assigning new responsibilities to Naval Kishore Chaudhary and Amit Kumar Pandey.
According to a notification issued by the General Administration Department (GAD) on Sunday, Naval Kishore Chaudhary, a 2013-batch IAS officer of the Bihar cadre, has been appointed Executive Director of the Bihar State Health Society. Amit Kumar Pandey, a 2014-batch IAS officer who was serving in the same position, has been transferred as Additional Secretary in the Revenue and Land Reforms Department.
Naval Kishore Chaudhary Moves to State Health Society
Mr Chaudhary was serving as Managing Director of the Bihar State Transmission Company Limited (BSPTCL) before the latest order.
He has now been transferred and appointed as Executive Director of the Bihar State Health Society, taking over the responsibility from Amit Kumar Pandey.
Along with the new posting, Chaudhary has been relieved of his additional responsibility as Special Secretary in the Urban Development and Housing Department.
The appointment places the 2013-batch officer in a key administrative role in Bihar’s health sector, where the State Health Society is responsible for implementing and coordinating major public health programmes in the state.
Amit Kumar Pandey Gets Revenue and Land Reforms Charge
Mr Pandey, a 2014-batch IAS officer, has been moved out of the State Health Society after serving as its Executive Director.
He has been appointed Additional Secretary in the Revenue and Land Reforms Department.
Pandey was also holding the additional responsibility of Additional Secretary in the Health Department. With the latest order, he has been relieved of that additional charge as well.
The move marks a shift for Pandey from health-sector administration to a department dealing with land records, revenue administration and related matters in the state.
Two Officers Assigned New Responsibilities
The latest changes represent a role swap of sorts within the state’s administrative structure, with Pandey moving out of the State Health Society and Chaudhary taking over as its Executive Director.
The reshuffle also brings changes to the additional responsibilities held by both officers. Chaudhary has been relieved of his additional charge in the Urban Development and Housing Department, while Pandey has been relieved of his additional responsibility in the Health Department.
The appointments were notified by the Bihar General Administration Department as part of the state’s latest administrative changes.
