The Bihar government has approved a major proposal for the establishment of industries in the Kenagar block of Dhamdaha assembly constituency, paving the way for large-scale industrial development in Purnia district. The decision was taken during the state cabinet meeting held on Tuesday.

According to the approval, 279.65 acres of land will be acquired in Bithanouli Khemchandra and Ganeshpur mauzas, located near the proposed Purnia Expressway. This move is expected to facilitate the setting up of new industries and expand the industrial footprint in the region.
Rs. 66.91 Crore Sanctioned for Land Acquisition
Food and Consumer Protection Minister Ms. Leshi Singh informed that the cabinet has sanctioned Rs. 66.91 crore for acquiring land in Kenagar zone. The land will be handed over to the Infrastructure Development Authority, Patna, which will oversee industrial infrastructure and unit development.
She further assured that if additional land is required for new industrial projects, efforts will be made to fulfill those needs to support long-term expansion.
Boost to Employment and Regional Development
Highlighting the significance of the decision, Ms. Leshi Singh said that the establishment of industries in Kenagar block will prove to be a milestone in Bihar’s industrial expansion. The project will generate employment for local youth, reduce unemployment, and raise the standard of living of people in Purnia and adjoining areas.
She reiterated that the Bihar government under Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is committed to strengthening the state’s industrial base and opening new opportunities for the youth. She also assured residents of Dhamdaha constituency that efforts are underway to create an industrial corridor in the area, aimed at promoting self-reliance and sustainable growth.
