Patna: The Bihar Home Department has officially notified the promotion of seven Indian Police Service (IPS) officers of the 2017 batch of the Bihar cadre to the Junior Administrative Grade (JAG). The promotion is effective from January 1, 2026, though there are no changes in the current postings of the officers following the elevation.
Officers Receiving Promotion
The officers promoted to the Junior Administrative Grade include:

- Vineet Kumar
- Ambrish Rahul
- Pramod Kumar Yadav
- Manish
- Lalit Mohan Sharma
The promotion will bring with it the standard benefits associated with the JAG level, enhancing their career trajectory within the state police system. Current Postings Remain Unchanged
While the officers have received the promotion, their current postings and responsibilities remain unchanged, according to the Home Department notification. This ensures continuity in the administration and ongoing projects handled by the officers.
Foreign Service Officers Visit Labor Department
In a related administrative update, Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officers recently visited Bihar’s Labor Resources and Migrant Workers Welfare Department as part of their training program. During the visit, they engaged with departmental officers, received a briefing on various labor welfare schemes, and gained insights into the state’s labor administration framework.
