New Delhi: Mahanagar Gas Limited (MGL) has announced a major leadership change, approving the appointment of Praveer Kumar Srivastava as Additional Director and Managing Director for a five-year term starting April 30, 2026, subject to shareholder approval.
The decision was taken by the company’s Board during a meeting held on April 10, 2026, and disclosed under SEBI (LODR) Regulations, 2015.
Five-Year Leadership Term Approved
As per the board approval, Praveer Kumar Srivastava will serve as Managing Director from April 30, 2026 to April 29, 2031, or until further orders from GAIL (India) Limited, whichever is earlier.
He will also be inducted into various board committees from the same date.
Experienced GAIL Veteran to Lead MGL
Srivastava is a Chemical Engineering graduate from IIT Kharagpur and a certified Energy Auditor. He brings over 30 years of experience from GAIL (India) Limited, where he has worked across operations, strategy, business development, and gas management.
Currently, he serves as Executive Director (Western Region) at GAIL, overseeing pipeline operations, maintenance, and marketing across key industrial zones in western India.
Key Contributions in Clean Energy and Gas Sector
During his career, Srivastava has played a key role in several strategic initiatives, including:
- Green hydrogen production projects
- Hydrogen blending pilot programs
- Small-scale LNG development
- GAIL Strategy 2030 and Net Zero roadmap
He has also contributed to major infrastructure and pipeline expansion projects across India.
Leadership Transition at MGL
In a parallel development, the company announced that Ashu Shinghal will cease to be Managing Director effective April 30, 2026, following the withdrawal of his nomination by GAIL (India) Limited.
The company acknowledged his leadership and contributions during his tenure at MGL.
