Patna: Bihar Urban Development and Housing Minister Nitish Mishra has directed BUDCO to speed up pending urban projects through district-wise work plans, AI-based monitoring and stricter quality checks.
Work Plans for Pending Projects
During a review meeting, Mishra asked officials to prepare detailed plans for all pending projects and ensure completion within the current financial year wherever possible.
He also reviewed stormwater drainage, water supply, Namami Gange and Chief Minister’s Comprehensive Urban Development Scheme projects.

AI Dashboard for Monitoring
The minister directed officials to integrate MIS data, engineering reports, file tracking and contractor databases with an AI-based dashboard for real-time monitoring and faster decisions.
Construction sites will also require proper protocols, barricading, green nets and regular inspections.
Action Against Poor-Performing Contractors
Mishra said contractors delivering quality work on time should be encouraged and rewarded. Those repeatedly showing poor performance or negligence may face debarment as per rules.
He also called for training, exposure visits and greater use of modern technology for BUDCO engineers and technical staff.
Focus on Districts and Tourism
The minister directed officials to strengthen BUDCO’s offices across all 38 districts and improve coordination with Urban Local Bodies.
Special attention will also be given to projects linked to tourism destinations. The department aims to make timely completion, quality, transparency and accountability central to Bihar’s urban infrastructure development.
