Bhopal: The Madhya Pradesh Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, has approved major financial and welfare proposals worth more than ₹41,000 crore, covering rural employment, infrastructure, technical education, dairy development, healthcare and farmer support.
125 Days of Guaranteed Rural Employment
The Cabinet ratified the implementation of the Viksit Bharat (Rural) – VBG RAM G Scheme in Madhya Pradesh from July 1, 2026. The scheme will provide a statutory guarantee of 125 days of wage employment, up from the earlier 100 days, to willing adult members of rural households.
The estimated expenditure is ₹3,183 crore for 2026-27, while the total estimated cost for 2026-27 to 2030-31 is ₹26,436 crore. The Centre-State funding ratio will remain 60:40, with the state share estimated at ₹10,574 crore.
Each Gram Panchayat will prepare a Viksit Gram Panchayat Plan using GIS technology, PM Gati Shakti layers and digital public infrastructure. Biometric attendance, digital muster rolls and social audits every six months will support transparency.
An Ombudsman will also be appointed in every district for faster grievance redressal.

₹2,973 Crore Push for Dairy Development
The Cabinet approved ₹2,973 crore for strengthening the cooperative dairy system and upgrading the Sanchi brand.
Over the next five years, the government plans to expand cooperative milk societies from 7,331 villages to 26,000 villages. Daily milk collection is targeted to rise from 12 lakh kg to 52 lakh kg, while processing capacity will increase from 17.8 lakh litres to 63.3 lakh litres per day.
The government also aims to increase packaged milk sales from 7 lakh litres to 35 lakh litres per day and artificial insemination coverage from 15% to 50%.
West Bhopal Bypass Gets Revised Approval
The Cabinet approved a revised project cost of ₹3,225.51 crore for constructing a 35.61-km, four-lane West Bhopal Bypass with paved shoulders under the Hybrid Annuity Model.
The bypass is expected to reduce congestion in Bhopal and save around 21 km for vehicles travelling between Jabalpur and Narmadapuram towards Indore.
The project alignment was revised due to factors including the declaration of the Ratapani Tiger Reserve, environmental restrictions in the Upper Lake catchment area, the presence of an ancient Shiva temple and plans to connect the bypass with the eastern bypass.
Three New Technology and Skill Universities
A major education-sector decision will replace the existing regional structure of Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya with three separate technology and skill universities in Bhopal, Ujjain and Jabalpur.
They will be named:
- Madhya Bharat Technology and Skill University, Bhopal
- Malwa Technology and Skill University, Ujjain
- Mahakaushal Technology and Skill University, Jabalpur
The three universities will have separate territorial jurisdictions covering different divisions of the state. The government will also establish a high-level committee headed by the Chief Secretary to speed up their formation and related administrative work.
New Economic Corridor in Sagar Region
The Cabinet approved ₹2,776.83 crore for a 67.116-km four-lane Mehlua-Bina-Khimlasa-Malthone road with paved shoulders under the HAM model.
The route will connect NH-346, NH-934 and NH-44, providing an important link for regional, interstate and industrial traffic. With the Bina refinery, thermal power plant, railway yard and major industries generating substantial heavy-vehicle movement, the project is expected to strengthen the area’s logistics potential.
Healthcare Infrastructure and New District Offices
The Cabinet approved ₹488.41 crore for the maintenance and repair of medical machines and equipment from April 2026 to March 2031.
Another ₹915.77 crore was approved for maintaining departmental assets at medical institutions, including modular kitchens and modular operation theatres.
The government also approved 15 regular posts and six outsourced positions for district offices of the Social Justice and Empowerment Department in newly formed districts including Maihar, Mauganj and Pandhurna.
Twenty posts were also approved for district AYUSH offices in Niwari, Mauganj, Pandhurna and Maihar.
Farmers to Get Higher Moong Procurement Limit
The Cabinet ratified the Chief Minister’s decision to procure moong and urad from July 1, 2026, under the Rabi Marketing Year 2026.
For summer moong procurement under the Price Support Scheme, the earlier limit of procuring 25% of the registered farmers’ produce was partially revised. The government will now procure up to 60% of the registered farmers’ moong produce.
The decisions collectively focus on expanding rural livelihoods, improving connectivity, strengthening technical education, supporting farmers and dairy producers, and upgrading public infrastructure across Madhya Pradesh.
