Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav on Tuesday transferred more than ₹304 crore into the bank accounts of over 1.21 lakh meritorious students under the state government’s Pratibhashali Vidyarthi Protsahan Yojana.
The students who secured 75% or more marks in Class 12 in their first attempt were provided ₹25,000 each to purchase laptops. The programme was organised at the Kushabhau Thakre International Auditorium in Bhopal.
The event also highlighted the achievements and aspirations of meritorious students, with some students sharing that they had cleared competitive examinations such as NEET and JEE Main alongside their Class 12 studies.
CM Mohan Yadav Transfers ₹25,000 to Each Eligible Student
During the programme, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav transferred the assistance digitally by pressing the remote button along with participating students.

Meritorious Students Impress CM With Achievements
The interaction between Chief Minister Mohan Yadav and students was one of the highlights of the event. Students spoke about their career ambitions and academic achievements.
Some students shared notable accomplishments:
- Tanvi cleared the NEET examination while pursuing Class 12 and expressed her ambition to become a doctor.
- Om Chouksey said he had cleared NEET, JEE Main and CUET along with Class 12.
- Abhishek expressed his ambition to become a scientist at ISRO.
- Arima Imran said she wants to clear NEET and become a doctor to serve economically weaker sections.
- Yashi said she aspires to become an IAS officer.
- Veerendra Singh Bundela expressed his ambition to enter politics and contribute to the development of the country.
- Himanshi Pathak said she initially wants to become an air hostess before pursuing her long-term goal of becoming an entrepreneur.
- Kirti said she wants to build a career in Cost and Management.
The achievements of the students drew appreciation from the Chief Minister, who encouraged them to continue working towards their goals.
CM Mohan Yadav Urges Students to Learn From Failure
Addressing the students, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said that success should never make a person lose humility, while failure should not be taken to heart.
He encouraged students to remain grounded, learn from their mistakes and maintain the determination to move forward.
According to the Chief Minister, knowledge and skills are two important companions of success. He said that knowledge remains a lifelong asset, while skills help individuals become capable and effective in their chosen fields.
Yadav also emphasised the importance of setting ambitious goals and working consistently to achieve them.
Government Expands Support for Students
The Chief Minister said the Madhya Pradesh government is committed to encouraging talent and improving school education.
He highlighted various facilities being provided to students, including:
- Free textbooks
- School uniforms
- Bicycles
- Laptops
- Scooters
The Chief Minister said the state government had provided laptops to 473 students in the first year of the scheme. Around 92,000 students benefited last year, while nearly 1.22 lakh students from the School Education and Tribal Affairs departments have benefited this year.
He also noted that more than 50% of students appearing in the Madhya Pradesh Board merit list come from government schools.
MP Sets Target of 55 Medical Colleges by 2028
CM Mohan Yadav also highlighted the expansion of medical education in Madhya Pradesh.
He said that while the state had only five medical colleges in the 55 years after Independence, the number has now increased to 33 medical colleges, including government and private institutions.
The state currently has more than 6,500 MBBS seats, while five new medical colleges have been established over the past two years, increasing undergraduate medical seats by 2,400.
The state government has set a target of having:
- 55 medical colleges by 2028
- 10,000 undergraduate medical seats by 2028
Government School Dropout Rate Claimed to Have Reached Zero
School Education Minister Uday Pratap Singh said the state’s education system is improving under the leadership of Chief Minister Mohan Yadav.
He said the laptop assistance is intended to connect meritorious students with modern technology and make their college education more accessible and digital.
According to the minister, the government has distributed funds to around 2.75 lakh students during the past two-and-a-half years for purchasing laptops.

Singh also said enrolment in government schools has increased over the past three years and claimed that the dropout rate in government schools has reached zero.
He added that around 70,000–72,000 guest teachers are currently working in government schools, while the state government is committed to recruiting teachers against around 18,000 vacant posts.
Focus on Education and Youth Development
The programme underscored the Madhya Pradesh government’s focus on improving access to technology, encouraging academic excellence and preparing students for higher education and employment.
The government said its education initiatives are aligned with the digitalisation objectives of the National Education Policy, while students were encouraged to develop both knowledge and skills to contribute to India’s development by 2047.
