New Delhi: Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) has announced the extension of the tenure of Vetsa Ramakrishna Gupta, Director (Finance) and Chief Financial Officer (CFO), following communication from the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas.
The ministry, through a letter dated September 1, 2026, communicated that Gupta will continue as Director (Finance) until his date of superannuation on June 30, 2031, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
The extension comes at an important time for BPCL as the company continues to focus on financial strategy, operational efficiency and long-term growth across the evolving energy sector.
Vetsa Ramakrishna Gupta to Continue as BPCL Director (Finance)
With the latest communication, Gupta will continue to oversee BPCL’s financial leadership and responsibilities as Director (Finance) and CFO.

Vetsa Ramakrishna Gupta has been associated with BPCL for more than 27 years and has held several finance-related responsibilities during his career.
He joined BPCL in August 1998 and has worked across various finance functions within the company.
Gupta’s professional background includes:
- Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), 1998 batch
- Bachelor of Commerce degree
- Member of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India
- More than 27 years of experience with BPCL
His long association with the company has given him extensive exposure to financial operations, investment planning and corporate governance.
Gupta Took Charge as CFO and Director (Finance) in 2021
Gupta was appointed as Chief Financial Officer with effect from August 1, 2021.
He subsequently assumed charge as Director (Finance) on September 7, 2021.
