Raipur: Nandan Van in Atari village of Raipur district is set for a major redevelopment, with the Chhattisgarh government planning an estimated ₹50-crore investment to give the popular green space a new and more attractive look.
The proposed project was discussed during a high-level meeting at Mahanadi Bhawan, where officials of the Forest and Climate Change Department presented the redevelopment plan before Chief Secretary Vikasheel.
Nandan Van to Be Redeveloped Under PPP Model
The entire redevelopment project will follow the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. The plan aims to strengthen Nandan Van’s infrastructure while promoting environmental conservation.
A key component of the project will be the revival and development of the existing botanical garden. The redevelopment is expected to improve the overall visitor experience while creating better facilities at the site.
Focus on Tourist Facilities
The Chief Secretary directed officials to give special attention to tourist convenience while planning the redevelopment.
The project will include various public amenities designed to make visits more comfortable and enhance Nandan Van’s appeal as a recreational and tourism destination.
The focus on infrastructure and visitor facilities is expected to support the broader development of Nandan Van while retaining its environmental character.
Senior Officials Review Project
The review meeting brought together senior officials from several departments. Additional Chief Secretary of the Forest and Climate Change Department Manoj Kumar Pingua, Finance Department Secretary Dr Rohit Yadav, Housing and Environment Department Secretary Ankit Anand, and CHiPS CEO Chandan Kumar attended the meeting along with other senior officials.
The proposed redevelopment reflects the state government’s focus on combining environmental conservation, tourism infrastructure and public amenities in the development of Nandan Van.
