Nava Raipur: The Union Ministry of Mines will organise a roadshow in Nava Raipur, Chhattisgarh, on August 31 to promote investment in the critical and strategic minerals sector and showcase the eighth tranche of mineral block auctions.
The event will bring together representatives of the Centre and Chhattisgarh government, mining-sector experts and industry stakeholders. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, Union Ministers of State Tokhan Sahu and Satish Chandra Dubey, and Chhattisgarh Mineral Development Corporation Chairman Saurabh Singh are scheduled to participate.
20 Mineral Blocks in Eighth Auction Tranche
The eighth tranche comprises 20 critical and strategic mineral blocks, including:
- 3 Mining Lease (ML) blocks
- 17 Composite Licence (CL) blocks
- Graphite
- Rare Earth Elements
- Rare metals
- Vanadium
- Gallium
- Titanium
- Molybdenum
- Tungsten

These minerals are considered important for sectors including advanced technology, energy, industry and strategic applications.
Focus on Transparent and Technology-Driven Mining
The roadshow will feature technical sessions covering the e-auction process, tender documentation and exploration-cost partial reimbursement provisions for Composite Licence holders. An open-house session will also provide industry participants an opportunity to discuss private-sector participation.
Several initiatives related to Chhattisgarh’s mineral sector are also scheduled around the event, including the launch of the Tin Portal and e-Ret Sangwari Portal. An MoU is proposed with Pt Ravishankar Shukla University for specialised training in corundum cutting and polishing.
Limestone Blocks and Mine-Site Review
A publication on minor minerals will also be unveiled, while a Notice Inviting Tender (NIT) for three limestone mining lease blocks is scheduled to be issued.
On September 1, officials are expected to undertake a performance review and visit mine sites associated with previously auctioned blocks to assess their exploration and production activities.
The roadshow is part of the Centre’s efforts to facilitate exploration and utilisation of critical and strategic mineral resources and encourage greater participation in the sector.
