New Delhi: Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) has launched PNG Drive 2.0, a nationwide, industry-led initiative aimed at accelerating the adoption of Piped Natural Gas (PNG) and Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) across households, transport, and industrial and commercial sectors. The campaign seeks to strengthen India’s clean energy ecosystem while promoting reliable, cost-efficient, and environmentally friendly fuel options.

Unified Industry Push for Clean Energy

The initiative, anchored under the theme “Har Ghar PNG, Har Gaadi CNG – Jiyo Non-Stop Zindagi,” reflects a unified commitment from the City Gas Distribution (CGD) industry under the guidance of the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB). PNG Drive 2.0 provides a harmonised outreach framework aimed at enhancing consumer awareness and increasing the adoption of natural gas across India.

BPCL is spearheading the campaign on behalf of the industry, coordinating execution, facilitating collaboration among CGD entities, and ensuring consistency in messaging while allowing flexibility for region-specific implementation.

Benefits of PNG and CNG Highlighted

The campaign emphasizes the practical advantages of PNG and CNG, including:

  • Reliable Supply: Continuous access to energy for households, vehicles, and businesses.
  • Lower Emissions: Cleaner combustion compared to conventional fuels, contributing to improved air quality.
  • Cost Efficiency: Long-term savings over traditional energy sources.
  • Operational Convenience: Simplified energy access for residential, commercial, and transport needs.

By showcasing these benefits, the initiative aims to integrate PNG and CNG as essential fuels for daily life, supporting the vision of a “Non-Stop Zindagi.”

Pan-India Consumer Engagement

PNG Drive 2.0 is a collaborative movement that unites CGD entities on a single platform, leveraging shared creative assets and coordinated outreach strategies. On-ground teams are actively engaging consumers through awareness programs, community outreach, digital campaigns, and field activations. Prominent personalities have also been onboarded to amplify the campaign’s reach and impact.

Director (Marketing) Subhankar Sen highlighted that the campaign demonstrates the power of industry-wide collaboration. He noted that the initiative simplifies consumer choice and accelerates the adoption of clean energy solutions at scale, supporting India’s broader energy transition goals.

Supporting India’s Energy Transition

The drive aligns with India’s national objective to increase the share of natural gas in the country’s energy mix from 6.5% to 15% by 2030. Wider adoption of PNG and CNG is expected to reduce emissions, enhance energy efficiency, and improve overall environmental sustainability across residential, commercial, and transport sectors.
