Sanjay Khanna, Director (Refineries) at Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), has been honored with the prestigious “TITAN – Refining Innovation Award” at the Transform HSE Leadership & Excellence Awards 2025. This distinguished recognition acknowledges his outstanding leadership in driving innovation and excellence in Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) practices across BPCL’s refining operations.
Under Mr. Khanna’s stewardship, BPCL has implemented transformative initiatives that are shaping the future of refining in India. The integration of advanced technologies such as digital HSE monitoring systems, AI-based predictive maintenance tools, and energy-efficient, low-emission technologies has significantly enhanced both safety standards and operational performance.
These cutting-edge strategies have not only boosted the efficiency and reliability of BPCL’s refining units but have also positioned the organization in line with global best practices in sustainability and environmental responsibility.
Mr. Khanna, a graduate in Chemical Engineering from the National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirapalli, and a Postgraduate in Finance Management from Mumbai University, has held several key roles in BPCL, including Executive Director of the Cochin Refinery. He was appointed Director (Refinery) and Additional Director in February 2022.
His leadership continues to inspire industry-wide advancements, further reaffirming BPCL’s commitment to innovation, safety, and sustainable growth.
