Patna: Travellers using government buses from Bihar to other states will soon be able to book tickets through a mobile application, with the Bihar State Road Transport Corporation (BSRTC) preparing to launch the ‘Where Is My Bus’ app.
The platform will bring information and ticket-booking facilities for city, inter-district and inter-state bus services together in one place. Passengers will be able to select seats, book tickets from home and make payments online.
The service is expected to cover buses operating from Patna to destinations in states such as Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand and West Bengal.
Online Booking, Seat Selection and Refund Facility
The proposed app is intended to simplify access to BSRTC bus services by allowing passengers to complete ticket bookings on their mobile phones.

Its planned features include:
- Online ticket booking: Passengers will be able to book government bus tickets through the app.
- Seat selection: Travellers can choose their preferred seats before completing a booking.
- Online payments: Ticket payments can be made digitally.
- Cancellation and refunds: The platform will provide facilities for cancelling tickets and receiving refunds.
The app will cover city services, inter-district routes and inter-state bus services, according to the information provided by the corporation.
Live Bus Tracking Through GPS
A key feature of the proposed application will be live tracking of government buses through GPS technology.
Passengers will be able to check a bus’s current location on their mobile phones and view information about its expected arrival at a bus stand. The facility is intended to help travellers monitor their buses instead of waiting without information about their whereabouts.
The app will also provide route and fare details, allowing passengers to access relevant travel information through a single platform.
BSRTC to Bring Bus Services onto a Digital Platform
The ‘Where Is My Bus’ app is planned as a common platform for information and ticket bookings across different categories of BSRTC services.
By combining online reservations, digital payments, live tracking and ticket cancellation facilities, the proposed service will give passengers access to several bus-related services through one mobile application.
The corporation is expected to launch the app soon.
